Residential Space Policy:
Program participants are expected to treat their fellow students with respect and integrity. Residents must respect those with whom they live and understand the participatory nature of the Hall. The observance of such principles is not optional and will be expected of every program participant. Residential Program students must:
- Do their share of the effort necessary for the success of the Pre-College Scholar program residence halls as living environments.
- Be responsible for their actions and those of their guests, and the foreseeable consequences of these actions.
- Show the same respect for others and for their property that they would expect others to show to them.
- Do nothing that brings disrepute to the Pre-College Scholar program residence halls or their community.
Guest policy:
- Individuals who are not affiliated with the program are not permitted to enter the residence hall at any point, with the exception of family members and legal guardians helping students move-in and move-out during designated arrival and departure time on the first and last day of the program.
- If a fellow Pre-College Scholar (Commuter track or residing in another residence hall) is in the company of a Residential or Non-Credit student, the Pre-College Scholar will need to inform the RAM and ARD on Duty via Slack when they enter the residence hall and when they depart. No company is permitted after curfew time.
- Visiting parents, legal guardians or community members are only allowed to meet in the common areas during regular business hours. Parents, legal guardians or community members are not permitted to enter students' rooms or other private areas. Parents and legal guardians may wait for their student in the designated ground floor level common areas (i.e; dining hall & main lounge), and may NOT enter student rooms.
- In the event of an urgent situation (illness, accident, etc) including ongoing support needs, that requires a caregiver in the residence hall, permission must be granted in advance from the Residential Operations Administrator.
- Visitors may not eat in Dining halls (Bowles)
- Program participants are always responsible for the actions of their guests, and the foreseeable consequences of their actions.
